Books for support people

As someone with bipolar I hold those around me, giving support when I need, the highest of respect and love. It is not just the diagnosed that are affected by the disorder. There is a lot of strain and pressures placed on those around us welcomed or not. It is exactly like how we did not as to be this way but are, they never wanted to have to deal with this either.
Here are some of our favorite resources for those who love us through this.

Loving Someone with Bipolar: Understanding and Helping Your Partner Edition 2 – This is the number one book recommended to all those who are supporting a person with bipolar. It is also helpful for those with the diagnosis to read through and go through a few of the supersizes together. It helps the supporter understand where things are coming from more clearly.

Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth Edition – This is the DSM which is basically the dictionary of mental health. It is updated regularly and is a good resource but we recommend that you don’t get hung up too much on the words or labels.

Untethered Soul – This is just a good book all around. It is not bipolar specific so it truly is helpful for everyone. The author gives advice on ways to free oneself from habitual thoughts, emotions, and energy patterns that limit one’s consciousness.
